How to Hang Curtains 

Things You’ll Need:

• Pinch Pleat Curtains
• Curtain Rod
• Clip Rings or other ring hangers
• Pinch pleat curtain pins

Step1

Standard pin hooks If you are starting from scratch and just love the way pinch pleat curtains look, then the easiest way to hang them on a standard rod is to purchase the correct hardware. Pinch pleat curtains are usually hung with pin hooks. These pins slide into the pleated area at the top of the curtain and allow the fabric to drape properly.

Once the pin hooks have been inserted, they can be attached to special curtain rings made for this purpose. I found these rings on the following website:

Clip Rings If you wish to hang the curtains with clip rings, you will not be able to use the pin hooks. Instead of inserting the hooks into the pleats, pinch a piece of fabric behind the pleat and attach the clips. This is not the most desirable way to hang pinch pleat curtains as it will not be as sturdy as other methods and it may be difficult to grab enough fabric with the clips.

Step4

Another way to hang these types of drapes is to combine a few different types of hardware. This is useful if you cannot find the correct hardware and can be more inexpensive than other methods. Insert the pins as in step one. Attach thin curtain hooks (usually found in the shower curtain section, as seen in picture) to standard curtain rings. Then hang the pins from the lowest point. Unless you can find decorative hooks that look good together, this method is also best for use with a valance or scarf covering the rod.
