Q - What is Wrought Iron?

A - Wrought iron is commercially pure iron, having a very small carbon content (not more than 0.15 percent), but usually containing some slag. It is tough, malleable, and ductile and is easily welded. However, it is too soft for blades and swords, at least for their cutting edges, which are usually made of steel with a higher carbon content.

Wrought iron is so named because it is "wrought" or worked from a porous iron mixed with slag and other impurities. The word "wrought" is an archaic past tense of the verb to work. As irregular past-tense forms in English have historically been phased out over long periods of time, wrought became worked. Wrought iron literally means worked iron.

Wrought iron has been used for thousands of years, and represents the "iron" that is referred to throughout western history. It is a fibrous material with many strands of slag mixed into the metal. These slag inclusions give it a "grain" resembling wood, with distinct appearance when etched. Also due to the slag, it has a fibrous look when broken or bent past its failure point.

 Do you supply hardware to hang my curtain rods or brackets or other wrought iron products?

At this time we only ship your wrought iron product.  Any hardware that is needed to hang your wrought iron or install your wrought iron purchase will have to be purchased seperatly from another source such as your local hardware store.  We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.  Should we find a good source for hardware in the future, we will add hardware kits to the order form should you choose to purchase them from us.  For now, we have no hardware kits to add.

Q - What payment methods do you accept?

A - We accept many payment methods. Through our website we accept  Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American  Express.  You may pay using Paypal and you don't even need an account with them.  You will just need to have our email address which is cvarr@hotmail.com . You may pay using a personal check. When paying with a personal check you will need to call your order in over the phone - mail your check to us for the full amount and then after your check has cleared (takes up to 14 days) we will ship your order.  You may pay using a money order or cashier's check.  You will need to call and place your order over the phone - mail your money order or cashier's check, we will ship your order as soon as we recieve your payment.  If you would like any payment option that we have not listed you may call us and discuss alternative payment options, 315-568-6062.

Q - Do you charge sales tax?

A - We charge sales tax on NY State orders only.

A - We normally ship within 3 to 7 days from receipt of your payment.  If there will be a delay we will contact you as soon as we are aware of it.

A - We use UPS or  United States Postal Service (USPS). We decide which way is best to ship your order depending on the size of your order and where it will be going.
